Best Pain Relief

By releasing restrictions in the connective tissue, John F. Barnes' myofascial release can treat: Back & Neck Pain, Headaches, Jaw Pain, Recovery from injuries and workouts, many Women's Health issues, Carpal Tunnel, Plantar Fasciitis, Chronic Pain, Restricted Mobility, Stress.  Children can also be treated with Myofascial Release. The results are longer lasting than traditional massage.

Fascia is primarily a collagenous framework throughout the entire body containing fluid filled fibrils.  It wraps everything down to the cells and is even inside cells in the form of tiny microtubules.  Vital elements are transported along this web and it is a quicker communication system than our nervous system. It supports all biological structures.

Releasing restrictions in the fascia helps unleash the muscles, nerves and vessels.  This type of treatment is very effective for relieving pain because it can take pressure off of pain sensitive areas and it can give more space for optimal function of organs, blood and lymph flow.

Holding or bracing patterns from past stresses and traumas can impede the healing process and these can be eliminated through myofascial release therapy.  Our consciousness is interwoven with our physical bodies. The mind is not 'all in your head'!  This therapy can assist the body/mind to feel more balanced and refreshed.

MFR is effective bodywork used to treat back and hip pain, neck pain, headaches, jaw pain, whiplash, sciatica, chronic pain, plantar fasciitis, tinnitus and many more problem areas including many womens' health issues.  Doctors and dentists are now referring patients to receive myofascial release therapy as it is a most effective medical massage treatment.

A study in 2012 by Dr. Paul Standley at the University of AZ shows that MFR therapy actually releases the protein interleukin 8, a protein that serves as one of the body's natural anti-inflammatories.

In another study, on The Effects of Compression on Breast Cancer Cells by principal investigator Daniel Fletcher in collaboration with Nina Bissells's lab at UC Berkeley shows that "tissue organization is sensitive to mechanical inputs from the (cellular) environment at the beginning stages of growth and development. An early signal, in the form of compression, appears to get these malignant cells back on the right track."

MFR is a wise choice in maintaining overall health. By easing fascial restrictions and improving your posture, the entire body/mind can benefit.  This can include fullness of breath, stimulation of lymphatic flow, aid in digestion and more optimal organ function. This type of treatment can also assist as a natural anti-depressant and aid in resistance to disease.

I believe that releasing fascial restrictions to address tightness, pain, and disease is what we will be seeing more of in future health care.  It not only relaxes muscles, it's a comprehensive form of health maintainance!
